In recent years there has been a lot of talk about the medicinal effects of hemp. This plant has powerful beneficial properties and can improve your health, reduce many complaints and sometimes even make them disappear. But why is this? Why is hemp so healthy? Hemp owes its beneficial effects to certain cannabinoids. THC and CBD. Does that sound more familiar? I took a dip in the wonderful world of CBD and figured out why this Cannabidiol substance is so healthy for us.
To start with that pressing question: No, CBD (the full name is Cannabidiol) doesn't make you high. It's an oil that contains the active substance from the flower tip of fibre hemp, a variety of hemp grown legally. CBD is completely vegetable and not addictive. The addictive substance from cannabis is called THC (fully Tetrahydrocannabinol) and this is also the substance that can make you high. That's the big difference between CBD and cannabis oil: the latter does contain THC and is therefore not legal in all States.
